They do understand it is the whole anti-hero thing that made him appealing in the first place.

It is like having the Punisher come out in favor of not shooting people.

And I'm like, based on what? He had four lines and six minutes of screen time in the original trilogy, and he was taken out in a manner befitting the Three Stooges. We really knew nothing about him. I kind of like that he's trying to take over the mob scene on Tatooine but still gentlemanly enough to apologize to an underling with a bionic eye after he told him to, "Keep an eye out."
