3. In the 1980's there was a novelty bar called Sharkey's Reef

...in the NOLA suburb of Metairie, in the bar and restaurant district called Fat City. It was in walking distance of our apartment and they had great happy hour food specials so we ate there at least twice a week. They had a huuuuuge aquarium running the length of the long narrow building, with sharks up to 6-7 feet in length and other fish. We would sit at the small tables right next to the glass window of the tank. And one of their fish was a puffer fish like this one, and it was very smart and personable. I would swear that fish could recognize regular patrons. It was also fearless, which makes sense since even in nature it has no real predators. This fish knows exactly what it's doing.
