THE DARK KNIGHT (2008): The pinnacle of the Batman trilogy?

Having digested the affecting but somewhat overstuffed The Dark Knight Rises, I must say that its predecessor was the stronger film. Ledger was absolutely electrifying, and the narrative delivered a tidier, concise representation of the pall that evil casts on society and individuals.

Any thoughts?

I had thought I heard this would be the last movie, but... it seems like there could be another. Not sayin more. It was okay. During the "shoot em up" scene in the beginning, I could not help thinking about Aurora. I wondered whether or not many of the people who escaped the tragedy will want to see the rest of the movie.. or will wait till it comes out on DVD.

with the Dark Knight a close second. Dark Knight Rises was good, and a satisfying third film, but, imo, it was the weakest of the 3.

I like Batman Begins the best. I liked how they told the back story of how he became Batman.
