It was secured at each end, but someone had to go out on the beam and undo the hoist cable.
The foreman's son, an aspiring iron worker, was chosen. He went out almost to the cable and
froze. He could not move. An more experienced guy went out and had to climb over the guy, release
the cable, and call down for a rescue harness. He put it on the kid, who was hoisted up, set down
by the work trailer, got in his truck and drove home.
