From mid-Michigan, south. Hopefully the heaviest will be in that south part (Sorry, Detroit). I headed to Kroger, this morning, to pick up a few essentials before the PANIC buying starts.
MY snow blower is not a BIG snow blower. I might be hobbling along to do several passes to keep the walk and driveway as clear as possible. Then I'll wait for the road commission to, inevitably, plow it back closed again.
Oh well. If push comes to shove I can pull the 'old lady' card and ask for help.

(26,298 posts)I've just been thinking about how to handle their food. They shelter in my neighbor's yard so I don't want to tresspass. I can put the food right at my property line, which is really close to where they den. They are all pretty robust so they'll find a way - I'll just make it easier.

The storm system is supposed to bring rain before the snow so I will bring all of the dishes to the front porch, Tuesday night. That way I can fill them all from INSIDE the house and carry them just half the usual distance, to the fence line. Once the snow stops I can stomp down a nice path for them.

Silly kitties. If they shelteted in your yard, I'm guessing they would have a heated condo.

Here, this morning, there was a somewhat interesting sunrise. About fifteen minutes ago it suddenly started looking darkish again. I looked out the window where I can see the top of the pass and there was a snow squall heading my way. Now it's here with 40-60mph sustained wind and I can't see across the street for the snow. I had to turn on the lights! Looking at the satellite, it will probably blow by us by noon. Glad my only plans were to stay in the house today. It's too windy to shovel so I'll just wait to see if anything stays here or blows off into the next county or state.
I took Mikey to his real/new forever home where his original human has a brand new house. Made me sad to leave him there but he's on her schedule of ranch-life and plenty of love, my new place is not a good fit for him. I was just caring for him while the house was being built, now everyone is in their respective new dwellings, seven months later. I'll go and visit but it's about an hour's drive one way so not often, which is what makes me sad. But I comfort myself knowing he's back in a routine environment he is used to, just in a new location, where he can have his disrupted life back catching mice in the hay barn and living the lush life in the house when it suits him. His time here was tough for him but he was a trooper in the long run. He had no idea how long he would be trapped in my apartment so he was operating on faith that I would not make it permanent. If I had secured acceptable housing that included an outdoor option for him, I would have kept him but I have not really settled into my permanent spot yet so it would be really unfair to the cat.
Now the snow squall has passed. left enough on the ground to make it look whitish and that is all. Wind is still howling, though.
Stay warm and enjoy the snuggles!

(54,445 posts)It is (degrees F°) about 38°, dark, rainy, and miserable. I have to run down to France tomorrow, but it probably isn't any better there that it is here. It stands to be a dreary week!
