I told my wife if they ever find me dead on top of one of those and the cops say it was natural causes she needs to hire a detective and investigate because I will NEVER willingly walk near one of those things. There was foul play involved.

Having to stand on line or sit in traffic without anything to do. I always carry iPod, magazines, etc., to deal with it.

The other day I went to the post office, all armed for boredom. I had magazines, Nook, you name it. Snacks. Usually the line is 10 people deep and they all have extensive business, about 7" per customer, minimum.

But because I was prepared, not one soul was in the post office. I walked right up, took care of business, and left. First time that's ever happened.

When my first son was born, I thought I was going crazy.
I would picture him getting taken, where I could see him, but not get to him.
And then him getting hurt/killed.
The most gruesome dreams...I spoke to my doctor about it even.
It kept me up nights...but talking to my doc, he said it was a normal (HUH??) to worry
But not THAT much.
It gradually went away, and with our 2nd I had a bit of it.

I really did think I was going crazy, I couldnt get those thoughts out of my head.

Checking on them 20 times a night.
Making sure they are breathing.
Every phone call during the day from my wife...

She's got the curly hair of a poodle, but acts like a terrier. She's a sweetheart, but man is she protective of me.

There's all sorts of vicious chihuahuas where I live. Every stray dog that's gone after me has been a chihuahua. I've never had an issue with the stray pit bulls. There were two in my neighborhood last year. Turns out the owner threw them out cause he was mad the female got pregnant...um...what'd he expect when he had two dogs of opposite sex and not fixed? A neighbor ended up taking them in. They were pretty sweet dogs.

Mosquitoes are the vilest, most useless species in this planet, and trying to catch one locked in the room with you--THAT is the path to insanity!

But my worst fear, the animal I find most revolting: Rats. They're dirty, plague-ridden vermin, and here in my port city of SF they grow to the size of beagles. I encountered one in my kitchen, and it stood up and hissed at me. My screams could be heard all over the neighborhood.

Needless to say, I went to the shelter the very next day and brought home my beautiful, Dark Matter Bombay kitteh. End of rodent problem: beginning of my enslavement to our feline overlords!

Keep your suitcase in the bathroom - in the shower/tub when you aren't using it.

Get those giant Ziploc bags that seal and put all your dirty laundry in it when you're done. Then when you get home take that bag to your laundry room and wash immediately.

Insect spray. It is nontoxic to pets and humans. And I am not certain the are arachnids--- that means 8 legs, without looking it up first, I'm going out on al limb to say, they are a 6 legged insect like a tick.

Bed bugs die in the drier. The heat kills them .
