Pesto and the Margherita are my faves. As for extra toppings, I tend to use crushed pepper flakes.

Grew up eatin there ... was a brick-oven pizza place way before that got hip.
As long as it has pepperoni or Linguiça, and no olives or salami (of the popular toppings anyways) I'm pretty flexible if it's a decent joint.
Mass market type places, I'm a Round Table guy. But don't get it here in AZ, have to have it when I'm home in Cali.
Also, for slices, a slice of Pep from Blondie's in Berkeley. At least back in the day, haven't been in FOREVER. Could suck now ... actually I think it's probably closed now that I think of it. But I'm pretty sure they still have a SF store
For Chicago Style ... Zachary's in Rockridge.

place was right next door to my apartment building. no car in AZ = walk next door and get two pizzas too many times per week.

(22,047 posts)Put everything on it:
Sausage
Pepperoni
Ham
Peppers
Onions
Anchovies
Black Olives
It'll need thicker crust to hold up to all that stuff but if it's crispy on the bottom, I'll be happy.
Tonight, however, I'm having a NY strip steak with Bearnaise sauce, hash browns and creamed spinach.

(9,196 posts)although I make a pretty good deep dish with sliced cheese underneath homemade sauce, ground beef, sausage, pepperoni and Canadian bacon. Sometimes I add a thin top layer of dough with sauce, topped with cheese. It all bakes at 500 degrees in a stoneware pan.
Now Im hungry, and were having teriyaki pork chops instead of pizza.

Chicken gyro tastes weird to me.

(14,932 posts)Being half Greek American but a child/tween/early teen picky eater I didn't like lamb.
So I missed out on all the warm months shesh kebab of grilled lamb, onions, red & green peppers feast at our big family gatherings 😑 😄
I did make up for it as an adult. 👍
And while not the same I love the street vendors lamb over rice w white sauce. Their chicken is quite good, too.
Dang, now I want one! 😄 😑 😄
Maaaybe over the weekend I'll make an overdue rare trip to a nabe that has those plus 3 of my favorite stores within 3 blocks of each other! 💖
(the trip is only rare bc of covid. 😑 )

haven't had a deep dish pizza in decades! They're yummy, too.
I ordered a whole white pie with onions a few weeks ago from my local place. Soooo good!
Luckily this independent place opened up a block away from me around 2 1/2+ years ago.

(14,932 posts)Cool, glad you really enjoyed it!
Now I've only had deep dish from Pizza Hut. I really liked it!
I'm almost sure that a really good independent deep dish
pizza place would make it fabulous! 👍
🤔
I should look up deep dish pizzarias in NYC for a future warm weather outside dining visit!
Also since I hope to some year soon I'll have saved up enough to visit Chicago for the first (I've loved visiting derp countryside, and cool, interesting cities) time; I'll get to eat deep dish pizza from the originator city!

(15,389 posts)I normally go for supremes except for olives.
I was contacted by my alma mater for advice to give to freshmen. They weren't expecting, "Learn to like Hawaiian pizza. Your dorm mates will be less to try and mooch a slice off of you. Also, learn a couple simple card tricks that you can turn into betting situations on dorm mates returning from the bars to make money to buy pizza."
They only printed the first part.
