I primarily go for the milk chocolate, but any chocolate could be readily consumed.

(102,295 posts)Dark chocolate is loaded with organic compounds that are biologically active and function as antioxidants. These include polyphenols, flavanols and catechins, among others and the best quality has been shown to have the above compounds in levels comparable or even exceeding the powerhouse of fruits/berries: blueberries and acai berries.
Those compounds have been shown to positively impact blood pressure, raise beneficial HDL and is thus heart-healthy. Other health benefits have been shown in smaller studies.
Milk chocolate, by contrast has far lower levels of these compounds. But, boy is it tasty.

As a kid there were Hersey's Rice Krispies, Gobber's? but was also Special Dark that we'd get as part of Halloween candy.
When Lindt started appearing, and the also opened a store on 5th Ave I was like "Wow!".
I love Dark Chocolate plain, or with hazel nuts, or almonds, or raspberries.
Luckily there are many great dark chocolate makers these past 20+ yrs.
And Jaques Torres stores here in NYC. Oh, my!
JT does a DK Choc Bark with hazel nuts, almonds & ? pistachios. Wow!
And Trader Joe's about 4+ years ago introduced their
dark chocolate peanut butter cups. 😄
As you can see I love it!
(And 😄 never white chocolate, in fact I pick out the white choc mini chunks out of Been & Jerry's New York, Super Fudge Chunk - dark choc & white chunks, dark choc covered almonds, and pecans. Ohhh, Yum!)

(55,014 posts)I am not a huge sweet tooth but confess if a chunk of dark and a plain old hershey bar were the only factors and nobody was judging, I would take the milk chocolate first.

Add some old coffee & some bittersweet chocolate to chili.
Awesome.
