Though a different type of story, this vid reminds me of how we came to acquire a kitten our kids came to name Dale (after the cartoon Chipmunks "Chip and Dale" .
Dale showed up as a persistent kitten meowing at the entrance of a grocery store I visited. Several times he rushed inside the store as customers came in and employees would toss him back out. The second time I showed up at the store Dale was meowing loudly at the front door still and zipped into the store as I entered. Employees were annoyed with the kitten and though sympathetic they threw him into the alley at the back of the store. This was the day before Valentine's Day and the temperature at night was -15!
After the kitten was removed, placed in the back alley, I exited, and there he was at the front door frantically meowing again. I went back in the store asked for a box, coaxed the little Bengal into it, and took him home. Weeks later he nearly died of liver infection, though after that Dale had proved to be too smart of a cat and lived for almost 19 years. Kids had a valentine's Day surprise and loved that cat.
