The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsLast night, I heard Judy Collins sing "Amazing Grace" in person
I have been a fan if hers since the first time I heard "Both Sides Now" as a teenager. This was the first time seeing her perform live. It was a small theater, so everyone was close.
Collins is 82, but her voice and humor are still wonderful. I am an atheist, but this haunting spiritual moves me. When President Obama led mourners in the song at Mother Emaneul Church in Charleston, viewers started their healing process after the tragic massacre.
In this time of war and fear, it was what I needed.

(23,097 posts)Such a beautiful rendition of this classic timeless song, it brought tears to my eyes. This was played at both my parents funerals, it made me cry then and it still does.
