I had made it though a half century of life without ever hearing of it but it is one of our staples now.

Halloumi or haloumi is a semi-hard, unripened cheese made from a mixture of goat's and sheep's milk, and sometimes also cow's milk. Its texture is described as squeaky. It has a high melting point and so can easily be fried or grilled, a property that makes it a popular meat substitute.

She found a little market in her town that sells it at a reasonable price, and got some for me and her sister to have.

I'm looking forward to having it. I mentioned your combination and she is interested. Thanks!

…Fig Newtons, which gave me a belly ache to end all belly aches. To this day, I cannot abide the thought of anything made with figs.

Totally my kind of meal! With some crispy grilled Ciabatta (brushed w/ a little olive oil) on the grill! Perfecto!
