Before Mr. T, there was,.....David Bowie!?

March 5, 1965
The Mannish Boys released their second single 'I Pity The Fool', featuring a young David Bowie. Produced by Shel Talmy, (who was also producing the early singles and albums by The Who and The Kinks). Jimmy Page was Talmy's regular session musician and played the guitar solo on 'I Pity the Fool'.

Weird historical note - Claretta Scott (later King) babysat John Lithgow. She was a student at Antioch and his family lived in Yellow Springs OH.

Note: She was born in Heilberg, Alabama, near where some of my ancestors had lived. She attended Lincoln Normal School in Marion, Alabama - which my mother claimed as her home town.
