(cross-posted from General Discussion & Music Appreciation)A July 2018 performance by Kyiv's own DakhaBrakha will be streamed free today at 11 a.m. Pacific time, 2 p.m. EST. The concert was recorded at SFJAZZ, but this band is more a combination of traditional Ukrainian folk music and more modern influences, with hardly any overlap with the jazz realm.

With cello, accordion, percussion, and vocals, this entertaining band puts on a good show. AND, for those who want to contribute, it's a benefit for the DakhaBrakha Fund:
As an expression of solidarity with the people of Ukraine, SFJAZZ is interrupting our normal Fridays Live programming for a free broadcast featuring Kyiv's DakhaBrakha, filmed at the SFJAZZ Center on July 18, 2018.
We encourage everyone to donate generously to the DakhaBrakha Fund, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the band, to be reallocated to their families as well as organizations aiding civilians in Ukraine.
Fridays Live (formerly Fridays at Five) was created to provide much needed support to musicians during the pandemic raising over $600K for artists to date. With another crisis now affecting the lives of one of our artists, we hope this series can continue to unify and generate support in a time of need.
