her and she always had one by her side when she took a nap. One day she put them all into a pile and she brought some of her dried dog food to them (she was feeding her babies).

I didn't know what she wanted. Eventually she would drop them in her food and then retrieve them and drop them in her water.

I spent hours going to different pet stores looking for replacement toys. This was before Amazon was a thing. They got pretty gnarly after a while.

Eventually I got smart and started deconstructing them, drying them out and repairing and reconstructing them. She never stopped her routine. I think she thought they were her kittens.

She was the smartest cat I ever had. I was even able to train her to use the toilet in the spare bedroom. She was a gift from a school boy neighbor who had a crush on me. (He bought me various other gifts throughout the years including a duck.)

She was covered in fleas, so tiny she could barely meow so I named her Mia. She was a Siamese and never got very large but always had a large personality. I miss her still.

Thanks for sharing your sweet story. It reminded me of her. ❤
