(51,567 posts)her and she always had one by her side when she took a nap. One day she put them all into a pile and she brought some of her dried dog food to them (she was feeding her babies).

(22,569 posts)I didn't know what she wanted. Eventually she would drop them in her food and then retrieve them and drop them in her water.
I spent hours going to different pet stores looking for replacement toys. This was before Amazon was a thing. They got pretty gnarly after a while.
Eventually I got smart and started deconstructing them, drying them out and repairing and reconstructing them. She never stopped her routine. I think she thought they were her kittens.
She was the smartest cat I ever had. I was even able to train her to use the toilet in the spare bedroom. She was a gift from a school boy neighbor who had a crush on me. (He bought me various other gifts throughout the years including a duck.)
She was covered in fleas, so tiny she could barely meow so I named her Mia. She was a Siamese and never got very large but always had a large personality. I miss her still.
Thanks for sharing your sweet story. It reminded me of her. ❤
