About those skydiving spiders....

Some years ago an Asian tanker was kind enough to drop off a few beetles that we appropriately call "stink bugs". I hate stink bugs, especially since that time one settled on a choco mini donut I was eating. I didn't see it and the next thing I knew I was overwhelmed by the stench, like it was attacking my senses. I began to look around for the offender when I realized the donut was uncharacteristically crunchy and the smell was inside my head. It was fortunate I was at the kitchen sink at the time. I have good reason to hate them... and Hostess donuts.

Fast forward a couple years and thanks again to Asian Freighters, now I'm going to have people tell me I have a huge spider the size of my hand crawling up my back right where I can't reach. I can't say I hate spiders worse than stink bugs, but I tend to freak out when something is crawling on me.

The good news in all this is that these flying spiders from Hell eat stink bugs, so I have to weigh this conundrum. I might come to appreciate them.

The bad news is there has to be something that eats giant parachuting spiders and it's just a matter of time before whatever nightmare that is shows up on the docks. Is there a chance maybe the killer wasps will eat them? Or maybe I'll see legions of Komodo Dragons prowling the back yard.

Where did we go wrong Lord?

The orb weaving black and yellow garden spiders. About 3” in diameter (leg spread), fangs that can’t really penetrate human skin, and build freaking huge webs.

They’re already in Georgia. Have been for a year or two.
