(202,970 posts)I thought my dog was small (20 lbs.), but even when he was a puppy, he wasn't that tiny - but he was known to do "zoomies!" My pup is 15 now, not a fan of going outside in the snow, so there's no room for zoomies - though there's a large spot cleared for him here in snow country. *sigh*

(1,845 posts)There are many smaller breeds that have been bred to get tiny dogs, called tea cups. I've seen a tea cup poodle. They are adorable, but many have health problems due to breeding them tiny.
Here's a link that lists several breeds.

Teacup dogs are extremely popular pets because these micro dogs look like puppies forever. It's no wonder they can fetch thousands of dollars apiecetheir adorably small size make them a hot commodity for dog parents-to-be. In general, teacups are markedly smaller than their breed standard and are not recognized by the American Kennel Club.
I found another link that has 15 varieties.

(202,970 posts)My friend had both a Maltese and a miniature poodle who I used to dogsit, but neither of them were that tiny - nor did they move that fast, LOL. And yes, they are adorable, but then so are puppies, and is it really worth the risk of the health problems??
I have a small dog, he's a Brussels Griffon, pet shop rescue. He's 15 now and I adopted him at 5 months, but I looked at the weight of those dogs and my dog was never that small, even as a puppy!
My Jack was about 8 lbs. as a puppy (here), but he's about 20 lbs. now:

(22,418 posts)It's kind of like a goat jumping but she doesn't do unless she's in a hurry. She definitely "catches air" when she does it. This little sweetie is adorable!
I wonder what breed it is. It reminds me of a teacup Pomeranian. Their legs are so short I don't think they actually even walk.
You can see some of this "lilting" in the video posted below.
