States can opt out of dst though, like arizona

Living in Arizona I don't change my clocks but it's good to be reminded when the rest of the nation changes.

so, no problem there
at least they don't have to sit in reset for an hour like they do for the fallback time change (no chance of overwriting data)

The computer clocks and the one next to my bed reset automatically.
