I can't imagine how much $$ these stores get. Sure, it might be a mere 25 cents here and there to a customer. But come tax time, I bet the stores have a pretty good amount to deduct - from OUR money, not theirs.

The place I don't mind doing it is at my grocery Co-op and locally owned pet food store.

But the following is what prompted me to open this discussion.

Two days ago I was about 3 people back in line and the woman checking out said this to the cashier: "No thanks, I don't approve of stores using their customers' money to get tax deductions."

Wow, you could have heard a pin drop.
I bet she was a real spitfire in the 60s!
