(23,168 posts)...and hazel nuts. She would go BONKERS batting a hazel nut around. She'd knock it down the stairs, to hear the noise it made, then she'd go down and get it (carrying it up in her mouth), and lather, rinse repeat. I've watched her knock down the stairs five times in a row!
I was awakened by what sounded like something metallic being batted around the room....found my cat going crazy over a BOTTLE CAP - since I didn't drink anything with a metal bottle cap it was a mystery to me.....but I found out later a friend had dropped it in my purse after hearing me talking about my cat fishing things out of my purse and then endlessly playing with them

(115,615 posts)that can be chased and swatted. Anything that comes in a box is a waste of money because the cat will almost always prefer the box. So give the little buggers Amazon boxes, milk bottle top rings, pipe cleaners, etc.

(12,462 posts)has a feather toy called da bird we use together, various balls with bells a few small ones and 2 big ones ,glittery fuzzy balls,
a silver vine ball and a stick with hemp rope tassels going out both ends ,a little mint chew stick,a crunchy kicker, and a toy I made from a thin leather strap with beads.
He likes the leather strap thing I made for him a lot.
And amazon boxes..
These toys he plays with.
Haven't got him any new toys for a very long time,he got the silver vine stuff on his gotcha day.
Also he leaves me his toys as gifts too. That never fails to melt my heart.

(21,347 posts)She catches them when tossed to her. She carries them around just because ...?
She loves to put one in front of a door, go to the other side, slide her paw under the door to locate the pipe cleaner, then pull it under the door. She will repeat this several times. If she can't locate it from the other side of the door, she goes back and repositions it.
