years are of my cats sleeping.

As for me, I didn't get to sleep last night till several hours later than usual. Worrying about Ukraine.

Hard to juxtapose those slumbering kitties in the OP with the atrocities half a world away. But both exist. The yin and yang of our lives.

Usually I can offset some of this worry with music, my go-to for stress relief, but last night, just as I was about to go to bed, I ran across a tweet from the Kyiv Independent about air raid alerts going off all over Ukraine. Which left me unable to sleep for several hours.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, these days my online time is mostly alternating between Twitter and YouTube. GD and LBN get the news tweets, usually. The Lounge and Music Appreciation get the music, when I find something I think should be shared. Late last night I could barely bring myself to type anything.

I do really appreciate the cat videos here. Thanks again.

And one reason they look so adorable is their blissed out expressions. Like these three, All they're doing is taking a darned nap, but they look like they're on some enchanted magic carpet ride. It makes me feel so good just to look at them.

cat keeping guard over me from the headboard. Sometimes she seems to think that I need protection more than cuddling. Or she starts out with a cuddle, then goes into protect mode as I drift off.

She has strong maternal instincts for a spayed cat who has never had a litter. And she thinks that I am her big kitten.
