2. MY point is: When you least expect a topic to have a site on the internet, there is a site on it.

A SITE ON.........."EVERYTHING".....................................................................even long rifles?

I have been on the internet since 2001, and searching here and there about this and that.........

In searching I've found sites about most ideas and items.........But, a site on ...."American Long Rifles"?

well......that is new to me & I couldn't believe that the site exists at all...............

3. There are a lot of people who collect antique or unusual guns, like people collect

antique or unusual everything else. They don't necessarily even shoot them; many are inoperative or too valuable to use. I knew a guy who collected glass paperweights - hundreds of them. I don't get it myself, but a lot of people enjoy collecting for the sake of finding a unique or very old item. The site you mention seems to focus on building rifles, which is another hobby that several people I know have been interested in. My dad once built a replica of an old muzzle-loader rifle that actually worked, and we had a lot of fun shooting pumpkins and stumps with it.

I have been to gatherings of different kinds, with many people selling ."..lots of stuff."
...You name the stuff, and it is sold somewhere. Old baseball carts, lamps, books, old posters of all kinds, electric trains,
magazines, etc, etc, etc. I have never seen or imagined old rifles being sold, but that was my error.
... In the U.S.A. with 330,000,000 people lots of collectors of antiques. All kinds of antiques. ....

...I guess when it comes to antiques, and on the other side, "old stuff" ............there is always more, and more &............

.....even MORE!!!..............................OH.................I have an old newspaper in my basement..........(entire newspaper)

with Tricky Dick Nixon on the front page.......saying, "I WILL NOT RESIGN"....want to buy or trade something??

5. This is why I'm glad the internet wasn't available to me growing up

I was a nerdy kid with passing obsessions about all kinds of things. The amount of information on any topic was limited, and I found that many subjects tended to circle on themselves after a while. Then it was on to the next obsession that tweaked my brain. Hard to fathom what might have happened with unlimited access to material (with new material coming online all the time) and other people as obsessed as me.
