I just got done checking the weather. I see that my son in Upper Michigan is now up to

294 inches of accumulated snowfall so far this winter. I did the math and that's 24.5 feet.
It looks like they won't hit the record this year but it's still a lot of snow.

Don't you feel better now? I know I do!

My husband was stationed at K.I. Sawyer AFB for almost 4 years, back in the early 80s. We went thru 4 winters. In the relatively nearby town of Marquette, the piles of snow along the road get so high that the town puts up convex mirrors at the street intersections so you can see if cars are coming on the cross streets - can't see around "around the corner" of the snow walls. The blades on the snowplows look like they are 2 stories tall.

The first summer we were there, we wore coats, hats, scarves, mittens and boots to the base 4th of July fireworks because it as only 42 degrees.

The leaves on the trees don't come out until June, and start turning red in August.

I don't ever want to live there again.

After that, he was stationed at Andrews AFB outside of DC. In the Washington area, people panic and the "bread-and-milk" lines form if snow is even forecast, let alone if it actually falls. Such a contrast.
