I was googling to remember how to spell "crwth" and stumbled on this glossary.
If you want to know what that instrument is called:

on a wild ass impulse in 2020, i was in a pawn shop looking for a guitar. they didnt have any that interested me, but they did have an instrument i had never seen. the shop owner didnt know anything about it including what it was called.
it's a lovely lacquered wood resonator that looks a bit like a koto-
but w a single string. lots of mother of pearl, and hinged in the middle for storage. about 4' long, and 6" x 6" around.
the string is attached to a wooden bell on an arch, changing the pitch by moving it up pr down.
this bit needs a cleaning, so i havent been able to play it.
there is a similar instrument that is single stringed and considered a zither. most have a body and a neck, but i did see some more tube shaped. now i cant find them again. will edit if it turns up, but starts w an i.
but i bought it because it is just a gorgeous object. no good guess how old it is. looks pretty old, but...
so, i was hoping it was on there, but since i dont know what it's called, i didnt get far.
but at least i have a clue how to describe it. i think.
eta- Ichigenkin is a one strings zither. it looks a bit like this, but has a hollow body.
