and our momma robin has started her yearly nest.......it's almost finished and it's been in the 40's

Didn’t think we’d see her for awhile, been quite chilly here well below normal. Just happy to see her. Last year the sparrows had taken over her nest, so very happy momma robin is back. She usually has 3 babies per hatch and she’ll have two hatches…..

Birds may be nesting up to a month ahead of normal, due to climate change

I love my backyard birds too … trying to keep them fed and provide shelter for them with my shrubbery near the feeders.

One year while sitting on our fire escape which over looked the apt buildings below I watched a pair of crows flying back and forth with twigs and small branches building a nest.

It was so cool! ❤️👍

going on…….such a wonderful time of year. Speaking of crows flying back and forth with twigs for their nest…..I’d laugh out loud with some doves making their nests. My husband had platforms around our garage for the birds to build nests on. The robins were so busy building their nests, and the doves would put may-be 5 or 6 sticks on the platform for their nests……😂 we could see their “nests” if you can even call it a nest……5 or 6 sticks on the platform 🤣 😂 🤣. One pair of doves had 5 batches of baby doves!!! Momma Dove had 5 batches of babies!!!! 3 - 4 babies each one season. My husband called her a slut with her having sex and babies so often. 😂

Cool for your husband building nest platforms 👍

It was a rare experience to see the nest building, I loved it.

close to the nest but not in the nest the as the wrens were in it…….😳 😳 😳 Wonder if the robin will occupy it when it warms up a bit or if the wrens have actually taken it over. Kinda what happened last year…..only it was sparrows who to took over the nest.
