I never went that far although I sure do understand. My boys weren't all that demanding, either. I let them know precisely what to expect when we went shopping, what we would look at, buy, etc. They also knew that I would NEVER buy anything while standing in the check-out line at the grocery store. Parents have to stick to their guns or it's all ruined. I would not give in and they knew it.
