Like him or hate him, it's a cool photograph.
wiki:
Andrew Jackson (March 15, 1767 June 8, 1845) was an American lawyer, general, and statesman who served as the seventh president of the United States from 1829 to 1837. Before being elected to the presidency, Jackson gained fame as a general in the United States Army and served in both houses of the U.S. Congress. An expansionist president, Jackson sought to advance the rights of the "common man"[1] against a "corrupt aristocracy"[2] and to preserve the Union.

(5,240 posts)He looks like an interesting person. Wonder why he did the things he did? I've read several books about him and still find him fascinating but misguided. Thanks for the pic.

Jackson was a vicious pro-slaver! The only President to have actually run a slave coffle (look it up.)
There is no doubt in my mind, had he lived, he would fought against the Union.
But you are right - wild photo!

(21,633 posts)he forced the 5 southeastern Native nations to move west of the Mississippi. I'd hardly called him a "statesman" like the quote in the OP does.
