My wife and I have this discussion all the time. If she were to say 'next Thursday' today, she would be referring two days from now, April 7. If I were to say the same, I would be referring to April 14. If I wanted to refer to April 7, I would just say 'Thursday.'

I'm not necessarily looking for an answer, it was just cathartic to get it out
