MAGAt Rx - Help find the solution that dissolves their mental glue

There are OP's daily about encounters with iron-headed MAGA spouting fascist dogma. Most describe who said what and conclude with some form of "at least I told them off".

But what else could we do? What is your strategy?

I have a couple ideas, though they're not battle tested.

Tell them to search hard and find the honest part of their mind, because their talking points make no sense in reality. Everyone uses logic and facts to some extent, their pathways are just incapacitated for a bit.

Then ask them to stop lying to themselves. Their medical "research" is mental dithering, their ideas propaganda from Faux News.

This is all an attempt to make them think a little deeper about what they say, think, and do.

1. You are correct but it is a process one has to decide to undertake, which is not easy to do for

everyone. However, it still can be done if one makes the honest effort to do so. Intellect is not the determining factor, brutal honesty is. In some ways it reminds me of 12 step work. Imagine that. Seeing propaganda as an addiction explains a lot.

2. Few MAGAts in my experience have the capacity....

3. I have found that any attempts at communication with right wingers is

like arguing with a hateful rock. Fascism is their religion and no amount of evidence will sway them, it is like the old bumpers sticker, "Fox said it, I believe it, and that is the end of it."

4. Short answer: There is effective help for those suffering from psychosis. It begins with

anti-psychotic medication (which is really 'strait jackets in a pill' but called Major Tranquilizers in the treatment trade. Followed up with analysis, counseling and
introspection these people have an opportunity to become productive. If that's what
they want. Nearly all psychotic persons must be treated on an in-patient basis in the
initial stages, at least,

Long answer: Yes, psychosis is treatable. However, the psychopath and the sociopath
will either be killed by themselves, by law enforcement or someone else. The only
treatment for those that survive is long-term confinement in jail, prison or a secure mental
health facility.

Note that regardless of diagnosis all treatment begins on an inpatient basis and the
legal and mental health treatment providers will take it from there. This process can
work even if it sometimes doesn't.

This concept of 'get 'em off the streets' applies to many cases of criminality and
mental health crisis. Those two often occur together, y'know.
