Luna the tawny owl has accepted the two rescued chicks I placed in her nest. Watch her take them under her wing the moment she spots them.
To support my channel and the wildlife rehabilitation and conservation work I do, please donate here:

HAPPY ENDING
This means that after a long wait, Luna the tawny owl is finally a mum. Not only did her eggs fail to hatch this year, but she also lost her clutch last year.
LUNA IS HERSELF A RESCUE OWL
And the event also brings the story round full circle since Luna is herself a rescued tawny owl, raised herself by owls here at Fotherdale who fostered her in 2017.
FOSTERING OWLS
I regularly place orphaned or lost owlets into tawny owl nests and these birds accept the young chicks as their own. Their urge to protect and nurture is strong. Read more about how I do it here: https://www.robertefuller.com/diary/s...

I am a British wildlife artist based in Thixendale, North Yorkshire, UK. I build ideal habitats to encourage wildlife into my garden and use nest cams to study their behaviour. These studies inform my paintings. I share the best of my video research on this channel for free. If you would like to support my work please consider a small donation here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_s...
Or of course you may like to purchase my artwork which you will find on my website: https://www.robertefuller.com. Many of the paintings are portraits of the creatures you watch here!
