How I know my dog is feeling the effects of aging.

I have this couple who lives behind me.

Very nice people. Her views are about like mine, far left, progressive, whatever label you want to use. I would call his overall views more "middle left", but left nonetheless.

Sometimes we talk over the fence for hours, and he's a real ball buster. In actuality, he loves my dog, but he always insults him to try to get a rise out of me.

Whenever this guy is doing anything in his yard that involves movement, my dog loses his shit and runs up to the fence and barks endlessly at him. My dog will then run up and down the fence line barking at him for 5 minutes.

He does the same the same thing with my one neighbor on the side. He barks like an idiot at her until she gives him a "cookie". He'll eat the cookie, wait a few minutes, and then start barking at her again like he's processed because he wants another cookie.

The guy behind me came out with a rake the other day, my dog started barking and running toward the fence to do his normal thing, then he stopped dead in his tracks and turned around and walked back toward me.

I could almost read his little dog mind saying "Oh, fuck it".
