I'm moving to Sri Lanka

For any old timers still here, I may finally have more monkey- and cabana-related news coming up, because we're moving to Sri Lanka this summer. Stay tuned. Hope everybody is well.

Finishing up our "Pandemic Tour" where we spent most of three years in an apartment.

7. In Neuilly, technically

They can't afford to keep us in the city. But I've loved so many things about this place, and I'm sad to see it go, but it's time to move on.

9. Similar to many others in your situation, I'm sure,

for example Paul Child! (Have you seen the movie Julie and Julia? Interesting for 'biography' of Julia Child.)

4. He did!

I've been on a few brief visits there. Mostly I just notice "Oh, that is the Sun, and it is about 3 feet from my face". But the food and music and culture are of course amazing, so I'll just slather on the sunscreen and do my best.

8. Visited Sri Lanka shortly after the tsunami

It is a beautiful country but not sure I would ever attempt to drive there!

11. I'd say I'm envious

but I don't have enough melanin to survive that far below the 35th parallel (I live at 35.1).

Still, I know most of it is a beautiful island. I hope you'll be happy there. I also hope that when the move is done and dusted, you'll continue to check in here, preferably with photos.

14. I have friends there who have a beautiful place. But politically and in terms of goods and services,

like electricity, fuel, etc. things are currently a mess. This is due to oligarchic corruption. Hopefully this situation can be quickly mended. I hope you’re aware of what you may be moving into. Good luck!
