They can't afford to keep us in the city. But I've loved so many things about this place, and I'm sad to see it go, but it's time to move on.

I've been on a few brief visits there. Mostly I just notice "Oh, that is the Sun, and it is about 3 feet from my face". But the food and music and culture are of course amazing, so I'll just slather on the sunscreen and do my best.

but I don't have enough melanin to survive that far below the 35th parallel (I live at 35.1).

Still, I know most of it is a beautiful island. I hope you'll be happy there. I also hope that when the move is done and dusted, you'll continue to check in here, preferably with photos.

like electricity, fuel, etc. things are currently a mess. This is due to oligarchic corruption. Hopefully this situation can be quickly mended. I hope you’re aware of what you may be moving into. Good luck!
