So, swollen ankles?
Not necessarily from heart/circulation/whatever. This one (one footsie only) from a fractured fibula (whatever that is) with 2 surgeries and a metal implant. So all good now except with permanent swelling on the *one* extremity, fine.
*** Anyhoo, the deal is with the boots, the left ONE stuck and taking TIME and YANKING forever. And socks. Like, minutes yanking on the left/sinister deal.
Figured out that a THIN, slippery (crew?) sock is needed. Yip, slips in, cutting TIME. So, yeas, slides right in there, but also sliding around inside afterwards.

(7,849 posts)so, no matter how i turned, my leg is elevated.
the fact is the entire body will atrophy.
do as many stretching exercises 2x a day for 5-15 minutes. upper chest especialli had terrible breathing cramps.
leg exercises every possible muscle. knee bends, leg lifts while on back.
consult a doctor AND physical therapist before doing the leg exercises.
Keep a fresh bottle of ground cumin spice near with a clean spoon in a ziplock bag. this will relieve some cramps in emergency.

Or, maybe a low, no-ankle athletic sock, with a thin crew-sock over it?
