Theyre just mollusks, and I have no qualms having their water-dwelling cousins. I would hope the texture was better than fresh-water mussels, however.

I found a dealer on Amazon that sells them in a can with the shells separate in a plastic bag. There are also trays to hold the shells when heating them in the oven. You can use the trays in lieu of the shells which is easier to serve.
They're easy to prepare. Open the can, put a snail in a shell and add a dollop of butter and a couple of slivers of garlic then heat up. Eat 'em!
