Want to feel old? When we were born, there were only 48 stars on the U.S. flag.

The song is When I'm 64 from the Sgt. Pepper album. When I first heard that song at the height of the Vietnam war, the draft looming and the general condition of the world I remember thinking my chance of reaching that age were about one in a thousand. Coming up now on '69 in two months.

I tried to teach myself guitar, but gave up too soon.

However, I'm a half-decent drummer. Took lessons when I was a kid. But I had no sense of rhythm back then. I couldn't dance either.

A few years ago, something changed in me to where I'm a decent dancer now, and can keep a good beat. No idea what changed to cause this, but I was at a wedding a few years ago, completely sober, and danced the night away like a madman.

After that, I noticed when I slap my hands on my thighs, or drum on an upside down 5 gallon bucket, I can keep a perfect beat with a song with both my hands and feet.

Damn, life is strange sometimes.

you give yourself credit for.

Check out what you can get these days in terms of drums or guitars or keyboards, even for under $200, if you're still interested in learning. Reviews on sites like Amazon help, and you can often find the same products reviewed in depth on YouTube. And there are a lot more videos to help you learn these days.
