Just started watching Obi-Wan Kenobi, the new series and quite like it so far (2 of 6 episodes). I did have to think about where this fits and are we going to be in other Universes like Star Trek does...that really confuses me...

I really liked The Mandalorian, and Boba Fett series.

I find that I feel more connected to the characters with the newer films.

Prior to the most recent prequels and trilogy, all fans had were the extended universe books, comics and some video games. Since the merger with Disney and with the current world and streaming media, it has allowed the franchise to change and become more available in the form of streaming shows and movies. I see it as a welcome transition and I've enjoyed all of the shows, from Mandalorian to Bad Batch and Obi Wan. But I'm a child of the original Star Wars generation and now have kids that are fans of that universe, so I'm pretty biased

quite frankly Rogue One has been the only good movie since the original trilogy, and that's with me having a soft spot for Sith because it was the last movie I saw before leaving Iraq.

But the TV shows have been mostly good to great so far.

Good thing about the Star Wars series out right now is that, while they do sometimes reference each other, they are by and large self-contained. You don't have to keep up with them all. You can just pick the ones you enjoy and watch the others later, without losing anything.

In my opinion, the new and growing fanbase for the prequel movies and the Old Republic era has inspired a lot of the latest content. So much of the lore in the shows draws upon cultures, themes, and topics we see in the prequel movies and related literature.

I'm a diehard Picard fan, so I've loved the series so far. Yes, even season two, as much as people complain about it.

I just don't take it too seriously and enjoy it for what it is.
