how adorable Husky's are. I am the world's worst dog trainer. So I have tended to have mostly small dogs that I could scoop up if they misbehaved. But I have to say...Huskies are fascinating...Sherpa the Husky is hilarious...and they talk!

both are so young, they seem very gentle with each other. I did have to watch my kids who were not above pulling on an ear or a tail...didn't allow it of course. The dogs were never aggressive and seemed to realize this was a youngin.

One story I have is about our kids and a cat...named Simba by the kids... from the movie Homeward bound. The people we bought our house in Georgia from deserted their cat. They left him there. I called them and they said they had no cat but the cat was in the House when I saw it...horrible people. At the time my son was allergic to cats and we didn't want a cat but we fed it...one cold rainy night, the cat came in and stayed. My son had luckily outgrown the allergy which he had as a baby.

The kids adored this cat. My middle child in particular was beloved by the cat. He allowed said child to dress him in baby clothes and put him in a stroller and go walking...never seen anything like it. I watched carefully and she wasn't hurting the cat and he went along with it which was pretty surprising. When the kids were in school he walked with them to the bus stop every day and was waiting at the bus stop for them when they came home.

The first time (but not the last) I had to go to school for one of my kids was when the middle child yelled at her bus driver...this was very unlike Cathy so I was surprised...went to school. And the bus driver had said she hated cats and would run our cat over. The middle child was crying so hard she could barely talk. The bus driver denied it but there are videos on the bus...This was a Friday and she was gone by Monday.

The middle child never got into trouble and had one detention in her life...she took out her phone to add a classmate's number. I got called to the school to pick her up which I thought was a bit of an overreaction on the principal's part for a phone violation...and found the High School principal pale and upset...the middle child was sobbing. She had a Saturday detention. He told me she was a great kid and student but they had been cracking down on the phones and couldn't take away the detention.

I went home and we watched the breakfast club...she calmed down and had the detention and all was well. But every time I see the principal, he apologizes for it and says he feels so bad and asks how she is...I couldn't resist one day, I said well the detention was a turning point after that it was all downhill...sad face. He said what, Really! I said no she is just fine...graduated summa and has a great job. We laughed and he said some kids you remember and how he hated giving her that detention. Oh, and when I told her to calm down at home before we watched the Breakfast Club...I raised my voice to be heard...and the damn cat bit me!

7. Great stories! When I was born, my parents had a cocker spaniel, Handy. Mother said he'd let me pull

on his ears, very gentle. Then came a hurricane and flooding (New Orleans). Handy was dad's baby. Mother had to wade through the backyard water, up to her butt, carrying me and Handy and food for both, but she knew if anything happened to Handy, my father would be crushed. Another time, Handy went missing. Dad was out of town so his co-workers came over and organized a search party. One man went to the dog pound. There he saw a very repentent and bedraggled black cocker spaniel who was beside himself at being rescued. But, when the hero of the day presented his prize catch to mother, there was Handy, safe at home! I never learned what happened to pseudo Handy, but maybe his finder adopted him, figuring out that black cocker spaniels must be really special to go by how much Handy meant to dad!!!!
