Hi. I was away for quite a while. I just couldnt face many online political discussions during the Trump years. I was feeling cynical and beaten down. But Im back now.
Im still a writer / editor living in Chicago. About 10 months ago, my wife and I moved into a modest condo near Lake Michigan. And we adopted a cat, who is a handful, but lifts my spirits with his cat-ness.
My main aggravation now is that I really need to leave my job. But Im finding it hard to get HR people to take a chance on a late-50s male like myself. I keep getting disqualified from positions that look like a perfect fit.
But, in general, life is good. How is everyone?

Wish I had wise words to share about the job thing but I've been doing the retirement thing for a while now. A walk by the lake will bring you peace and sand in your shoes.
I went to Las Vegas to watch TFG's hotel the night Hillary was going to win. . . A deep sadness lingers from that night and all since as the stench of orange continues to pollute our country.
Hope the new job thing blossoms and that you, the bride and kitty can enjoy the city of my (extended) misspent youth with joy. Chicago Shakespeare at Navy Pier can be a wonderful diversion to life's ups and downs, so do consider.
Peace

Please, just quote or paraphrase, but don't make us hear his Mafia voice or see his lying face anymore. Vomit inducing...
