Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI got the nicest compliment today from a friend I haven't seen in years. Made my day!
"You're aging like fine milk".
Having friends is great!

(46,355 posts)Early 80's, that is.
But I got a smile (and a few good tips) from older ladies if I would half-joking say "May I see your ID?"
Got that idea from a Doonesbury comic strip, no less.

(10,095 posts)One of my favorite lines about friends is this: Friend are the family you give to yourself.
Its so true. My closest friends are just as much family to me as my siblings.

(17,460 posts)My family has some big issues. They have done some things that I can't accept.
So, my friends are my family.
I actually don't have a ton of friends, but I have enough. And they are quality human beings.

So definitely a compliment.
