2. Okay, that's a good bash on the media

Isn't this the cynical theme of "Don't Look Up?" (I know it's a different threat but the media reaction is the same.)

But I have a question. How would we know they have death rays unless they had used them? Then we'd be dead anyway. Also, not to be technical, but we would know of their presence long before they were 5 minutes from landing. But if they have death rays, why would they land before using them?

Still, I share your view of our pathetic media.
