Using that methodology, all she would have to do is to add a few more items to the list like, I don't know, hamburgers, pickles, plastic utensils, beer, charcoal, etc., and she could get inflation up to 1000%!

8% or something in June. That is year over year not the one month. The way they report it sounds like prices have doubled on everything. That's the media reminds me of the weather reporter sitting in a boat and people walk by in water not even one foot deep.

Usually, in the first paragraph, the author points out that the increase is annualized.

It's hard to find a source that doesn't do that. I add an explanation in my comments that the change is on an annual basis.

They have only so many characters for a headline. I sort of assume that the people most interested in those stories understand that the change is on an annual basis. I still wish they could find room in the headline to make that important point.

Thanks for writing.

tell you what 10% of a dollar is. I watched a kid at McDonalds that ran out of quarters couldn't figure how many
nickels and dimes it took for 30 cents change.

Now those who only received 50% of the required material during remote slearning, were promoted anyway and will likely be behind the rest of their lives.

The same organization that provided the 16 cents data last July 4th had it costing approximately $10.50 more this year over last.

I didn't think he had it in him.

Would someone please explain to these poor, stupid, assholes that VLADIMIR PUTIN is mainly to blame, along with greedy corporations looking for windfall profits to "make up" for their COVID "losses" (that the government gave them funds to greatly reduce). If these greedy companies used that government COVID money for stock buy-backs it's not Biden's fault.

If these morons would just take a look around at the rest of the world they'd see it's happening everywhere, AND WE'RE STILL PAYING LESS THAN MOST COUNTRIES FOR PETROL!

Myopic mother***kers.

inflation. We are pumping billions of dollars into a war that Ukraine can't win with one arm tied behind their
back. That country and their citizens are slowly being destroyed to what end? It seems our goal is not to really
support Ukraine but to weaken Russia. In the process we may lose our own democracy.
