Working together for the first time in a recording studio with Scotty Moore and Bill Black, Elvis Presley fools around during a break with an up-tempo version of 'That's All Right.' Producer Sam Phillips has them repeat the jam and records it. It became Presley's first release on Sun Records.

Elvis had been working through some ballads that were, less than remarkable...and that's being kind. Scotty and Bill were there to function as session musicians and, from Scotty's description, they took a break cause everyone was close to burnout with how the session was going. Sam was in the back alley of the studio smoking, Scottie and Bill were trying to cool off and Elvis, nervous and trying to make friends with his players, was legitimately joking around, jumping and playing the song to break the ice as everyone sipped on Cokes. Sam heard the commotion and says to the boys "Where the shit has this been all night?!?" The rest is history.
