Why does "McAffee" keep telling me I bought something from them? Is it a scam?

The reason I put the word McAffee in quotes because I looked up a phone number they listed, it says the number is somewhere in China, I think.

They claim I bought a $500 computer security program, when I don't even have that money to begin with, and I never did buy it.

1. I send those emails to slam all the time and they still keep appearing

It’s like those messages are a virus themselves!

10. I get an ad from Malware daily. Close it, or 'x' it, it keeps coming back.

I bought at least a dozen Iphones according to callers a few days back. At $999.00 a pop I can't wait for delivery.

I was tempted to press the option yes I ordered that but it is safer to just not answer.

5. McAffee itself says if an email isn't from their .com site, it's a scam.

The e-mails come from gmail accounts.

They keep coming back but I keep deleting

I am also getting them from Amazon and at least one other telling me that my order has shipped.

Often these scams lead you to a page which instructs you to click on a link and talk to a service rep to fix your account.
DO.NOT.DO.THIS It will allow them inside your computer and they will promptly steal all your passwords and other private info.

Scam. Delete it or forward it to the real McAfee if you have an address.

They come w/ different greetings but I still delete em. I’ve never had an account w/ them or others that keep coming thru my email. Annoying

14. I've gotten 3 in the last few days and I havn't used McAffee in a decade.

I have gotten some from Amazon telling me my credit card isn't working.. except that I bought something that day and it worked just fine.

Still getting the ones from the winey voice saying gramma this is your grandson. LOL I tell them to stay in jail they deserve it.
