After the perm (Usually 48-72 hours) before washing your hair?

I've been cutting her hair myself since the beginning of the pandemic. She has a ton of hair, and it's been coming out quite good.
I cut my own hair, and my wife does my neckline.
She used to get perms all the time. I just asked her, and she said she always waited 48 hours before washing.
