Went shopping today, and whew prices are up .usually my husband does our shopping, well today I went along and was actually taken aback at prices of stuff. Well when I went to pick up paper plates the store was out of the cheap ones we usually use. Couldnt believe it. Three rows of nothing, only available plates were the expensive ones, Dixie, and those chinet types. Weird. Only nice thing was, gas was down dang near 8 cents a gallon.

(102,297 posts)them after going to four other stores. I don't need the stability of those expensive Chinet plates, given I have a stack of those wicker holders but it wasn't all that easy to find the cheap ones, I'd agree.

(15,810 posts)to grab a few groceries. I stopped at Winco first for most of the items on my list. One item was corn. Usually this time of year I see a big bin of corn. Nope. Nada. The produce guy was out so I asked, as he had a bunch of boxes of produce he was unloading.
He said they wouldnt have any for a few days at least. Theyre selling them for 0.68 each, and their supplier is selling for 0.78 each. So Winco has decided to forgo stocking corn at this moment.
(Fred Meyer, my second stop, had a few ears and they all looked just fine. 0.40 each).
