atomic tests in New Mexico made ants mutate into giant man-eaters. Today the movie is praised by environmentalists for calling attention to the danger of chemical pollution, which can indeed cause mutations in animals, and also in plants. Detractors, i.e. dumbasses, scoff and say the movie is an example of what they call "the paranoid fifties."
