The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsGoing to be taking a long break. I just don't have much to say anymore.
Increasingly, I'm finding it difficult to think of things to post about.
Also, I'm in a bit of a funk, so whatever "humor" I did have, is now completely gone.
I'm not sure what happened, this feeling kind of hit me suddenly.
So I'm going to take some time for me.
Maybe go for walks, go for long drives, enjoy nature, that type of thing.
Step away from the computer for awhile and try to live an actual life.
I think positive changes, such as those mentioned above, will increase my general well being.
I should be done doing all of this positive shit by 3:00, maybe 3:30 this afternoon.
I'll be back here posting at that time, sitting in my underwear, and eating some potato chips dipped in cream cheese, because that is all there is in this house to eat, and there's no way I'm going to the grocery store today.

(17,455 posts)I usually immerse myself in DIY projects that require a lot of concentration. I like doing this with good music playing. This tends to improve my outlook on things.

(6,254 posts)nuts but each episode is 2-3 hours with no commercials and many shows have 100-180 episodes. Great fun and I have picked up some Turkish words that drive my family nuts. Thats my way of coping with this depressing period of time. SCOTUS has really got be down.

(17,455 posts)It's good!
I live by that old 60's saying:
"If it tastes good, eat it".
I think an old-school nutritionist came up with that saying.

(51,185 posts)Saltines, sharp cheddar cheese slice, dollop of A-1
Now that's a good snack.
LuckyCharms
(17,455 posts)Try Breton flaxseed crackers with the sharpest cheddar cheese you can get your hands on.
Also, potato chips with a Hershey's bar. The salt from the chips compliments the sweetness of the milk chocolate. Freaking delicious.

(111,332 posts)I can give this a qualified rec, ketchup makes a lot better soup than it does pasta sauce, something else I think we've all done when we've been skint. I do think it needs more non dairy creamer, it tames the vinegar down.

(3,328 posts)Almost no benign news.
Ever since the orange demon came down on the escalator the caustic din of rage, lies, and ill will, has overwhelmed the airwaves. His criminal presidency and has been going ever since. The ongoing, Covid -19, inflation, supply chain issues, of late the Extreme court Judgments that at their best, are evil, women loosing rights, fear that more rights may be on the chopping block, the War in Ukraine, violent white supremacists, political polarization, yada yada yada. Enough!
You are very wise to take some time away.

I was wearing pants, uncharacteristically.
I was glad that I was, and I'm pretty sure she was, too.
