(65,076 posts)...was a grilled duck breast at La Grille in the foothills near Grenoble. Unbelievable!
Had a wine & walnut sauce that was to die for.
Gorgeous scenery out the window.
Alternate Versions, Still food but;
The veal chop at the Terza Carbonaia in Milan. (Great backstory about that night.)
The crabcakes at G&M Restaurant in Baltimore. Their dipping sauces are awesome. The cakes are LOADED with crab chunks!

(3,707 posts)... The twilight of the day-night on my Catholic Confirmation day when I met "Omnipresence".
No, it was meeting Ishvara,"Omnnipotence", the great controller of 'all' that night of my first LSD dinner.
Or, was it meeting Ma, Gurudevi, the Divine Mother of the Universe; strange woman.
Certainly it was 'Sat' moment of understanding Krishna Consciousness (Chit); too bad Iskcon misses the 'mark' even as they do have a market.
No,No, NO! The best mystic experience I've had is the next one, now that I know what I am no longer looking for.
Edit to add: It is all consumption, eating food and other experiences.

(49,004 posts)on a farm where my family was renting the farmhouse for a few years. He was well enough trained and gentle enough that I could ride him without saddle or bridle, or even a halter, though I had to climb up onto the gate to get onto his back. I'd read all the Black Stallion books by then (especially liked The Island Stallion Races, with two aliens), and it was a thrill to ride that beautiful horse, sometimes at a full gallop, with no one else around. I was 11-13 then. Always wanted to own a race horse. Really wanted to own Secretariat, but I would have wanted to ride him, without saddle or bridle.

(4,858 posts)...was at the Publyk House in Bennington, Vermont. It was a crystal clear late summer evening, with a gorgeous view of the mountains, blue sky, puffy clouds, the Bennington Battle Monument, and then a fantastic sunset. They had the best unlimited salad bar I've ever tasted, some chili as an appetizer, steak with baked potatoes that were good enough to be a meal in themselves, and a pudding for dessert I still can taste. I didn't want to eat again for about a week, but some things are worth it...
