I hear a radio ad for a local country music event called 'blame it on my roots' and one of the performers says 'juu-LIE' and I can't wait for August.

I was born and raised in Tx. (but I've lived in CA since 1988).

I think that's how I've always said it and still do. Having said that, I now say most things much more the way Californians do since I've been here so long and it's become natural to me.... For example, I don't say Ya'll, I say you guys; I don't say I or Interstate whatever, I say "the" before naming freeways - the 405, the 10, the 101; etc.
