It is 92 and expected heat index of 100.

(4,910 posts)I lived in Tokyo a long time ago. They have very hot and humid summers, and most homes then had no AC. The neighborhood shopping districts would pipe in Hawaiian music to create a festive "tropical" feel.
I asked some folks about it and they said that psychologically, it would make you feel better about the heat if you associated it with pleasant imagery, such as a tropical vacation. Don't know how much it helped, but it was kind of charming.
Hang in there....

(21,224 posts)Grandmother. I grew up in SF and the summers are chilly so it was a major shock for me to experience over 90 degree heat. My grandmother said take a lukewarm bath every night before going to bed and I was able to sleep comfortably every night.

(31,536 posts)I'm sure some of it is from evaporation, but I've seen a lot of birds using it lately. I have also put a small, shallow dish of water on the ground for the bunnies, toads and anyone else that can't reach the bird bath. We've had 100F or above almost every day this month with no relief in sight.
