(31,997 posts)but I wasted my one flush at 3 am and now may need to buy water to flush

(57,073 posts)My prev house had a well, so every time elect went out, there would be no water supply. I empathize.
Save 2 liter & gallon jugs in case it takes longer to fix.
Is there a community well you can fill jugs for washing & flushing?
Hang in there, my friend!
demtenjeep

(47,501 posts)Talk about gross.
(The builder screwed up when building the condo building and I had raw sewage from the whole building in my condo.)
I had to live elsewhere for two months and fight with the builder to not just wash things off but destroy and replace them with new as per state law.
So believe me, if the sewage is contained to your toilet it is a good day for you.
But I sure sympathize with your situation.

(2,337 posts)We called Roto-Rooter, and they said Aug 1st so we tried another company who said they could come right away so we told Roto-Rooter we were good. Well, after a two-week run-around, we called Roto-Rooter back and got on their schedule. Today they are coming to fix, so even though we put them off it's still going to be Aug 2nd! Crazy
Luckily we could turn the water on and off ourselves, so have been turning it on a couple times a day to quick wash dishes, flush toilets, fill jugs. Ugh. Not fun. Can't imagine having to go down to the creek to get water.
Going to cost about $7k.

(51,308 posts)Maybe go buy one of those big 5 gallon jugs things for toilets and so on.
And plenty of regular water bottles (or wine lol) for drinking.

(15,812 posts)The repair is fairly quick but its the required bacteriological sample result that takes 18-24 hours to be available.
Sorry you have to deal with this!
but at least I can flush soon.
onethatcares
(16,192 posts)the situations are pretty different cause you wouldn't use bottled water to flush a toilet.
good luck with either.
demtenjeep
(31,997 posts)no sewer or drinking/bathing.
I had used the toilet and didn't realize I had already spent my one flush so had to flush using a gallon of bought water
